Making my journal’s cover exceptional!

Making my journal’s cover exceptional!

I started journaling a few weeks ago in this old book I bought from a charity store.

Somebody looked at it when I took it out to start demonstrating and said why on earth would anybody want to put an ugly book like that on your coffee table. She made me think!

Old book covers were covered with fabric.

I immediately used my Follow Your Dreams stencil with old ochre chalk paint to stencil directly onto the cover. When it was dry I cut a square piece of paper to cover the Follow Your Dream I had just done.

Then I placed the Life’s a Dance stencil over the cover and used the same paint to stencil the whole cover. The piece of paper covering Follow Your Dreams is a mask and so the background stencil does not cover that area.
